Solitude - Zeyda Romero

A striking underwater photograph of a dark-colored fish swimming against a vibrant background of golden-orange and turquoise kelp or seaweed. The fish appears to be a type of bass or similar species, with a mottled grey-black coloring and distinctive silvery-white fins. Its round eye and streamlined profile are clearly visible as it hovers in the water. In the lower corner of the image, there are partial views of other lighter-colored fish that appear slightly out of focus. The contrasting colors of the warm, amber-tinted plant life and the cool-toned fish create a dramatic aquatic scene.

A Fresno State graduate with a BA in English, Zeyda is completing her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Palo Alto University this spring. Her extensive background in writing includes six years as a writing tutor, with four years at the Fresno State Writing Center. Her creative work, spanning poetry, photography, and art, has been featured in HAIS and CWAA publications.
